At mid afternoon, it has remained calm at the San Ysidro POE, this is great news BTW. The more extreme progressives on social media are furiously blasting Joe Biden and convinced he is worse than Trump, which is causing me angst. The extreme right is crying foul and lack of security on the Border - to be expected. Both of these approaches are sophomoric at best and I feel we need to wait and see exactly what some of the new rules of passage will be before we jump the gun.
I'll be back later, we are keeping our ears and eyes peeled. It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to check in with Padre Murphy and see what sort of supplies he needs.

The unfortunate part for the migrants was they listened to alot of bad info and now they are stuck.
Both the left and right had years to get it together and create a just immigration policy and were too busy arguing as usual.
It does now seem that the current policy might work as the numbers are going down.
Yes, misinformation from particularly the smugglers...but I don't think they ( the migrantes) are stuck, from what I'm reading two groups we had here have been cleared from their self imposed exile and are beginning the process. Dunno what is going on out in Jacumba.Scary territory out there - Jacume, drug controlled.
I do not know the reasons for allowing the migrantes to go thirsty and hungry and freezing to death...I guess we'll find out. Maybe it had something to do with the destruction of Federal Property - they were able to get in in-between the fences by cutting the fence and digging tunnel(s) under it. And, even this is unclear -seems to me like it would have been the smugglers who did the destruction not the migrantes, the creeps. They are ruthless.
Yep, until congress acts no one is going anywhere, same with gun control. But I am disheartened by certain things I have read which were completely untrue
concerning BP & CBP: In one report , an interviewed activist has charged that recently BP & CBP have been shutting down the POE at San Ysidro and carrying out Military like drills with sound effects. Yes, this did happen at least twice years ago (under Trump) when the thousands ran the border from the TIJ river- which of course also prompted the installment of the barbed wire.
But nothing like that to my knowledge has been happening recently not at all - also, if it had, surely Zeta & AP would have reported it. So, there is I feel a lot of hysteria attempting to paint law enforcement on the US side black, and yes there will always be bad apples, but for the most part, CBP & BP are honorable.
Well the truth is that the GOP are obstructionists to the worse degree no matter what it is - the debt ceiling, immigration, and gun control to name a few - or right, the environment too; but right now my money is on Biden, let's wish him the best.

P.S. Don't mean to bogart the conversation but I was reminded that during the past two years, the San Ysidro POE was closed down for at least an hour twice. Now, get this: These closures and re-routing of traffic was not part of a bullshit "readiness exercise" (as was done during Trump's tenure seven years ago).
There had been shooting executions, two of them - both in the lines leading to the POE where thousands of people were waiting to cross. One about 1/2 a football field back from the Sentry Posts (actually a bit less), the other practically next to a Sentry Post. Talk about active shooters.
So, these closures were done to protect the public at large and the Agents, both US and Mexican. ( The waiting lines vastly in Mexican Territory are peppered with Mexican agents) Just irks me that joe human rights activists are lying. The publication itself is twisting the facts, and you better believe it, they will never get any more dinero from me again.
Just the facts ma'am.
