A continuation of events surrounding the drug war and related social issues of Baja California and Mexico. Keeping an eye on Seig Heil Trump. We are still trying to restore all blogs from 2006 which were hacked by Linton Robinson and his team, famous for supporting the Baja Trump Towers on one of his real estate sites. Highlights of Paris-Simone's favorite music !!

Okay I was wrong yesterday saying that Trump was on a 'if you can't beat them, join them' strategy. I based that on Trump himself saying that now he "gets COVID" to be taken as now his understands the severity of COVID because he said that now he "understands" the virus in addition to his campaign staff just lying up a storm saying that Trump and his team basically never underscored the danger of COVID and ALWAYS practiced the guidelines to fighting it. (See interview on yesterday's blog)
Today is a completely different story: Trump has now tweeted that people should not be afraid of COVID and it should not control their lives. This in itself shows complete disdain for and is an insult to the 210,000 Americans who have suffered and died. Once again this denial is reckless and irresponsible. So we are back to square one, with once again Trump minimizing the deadly disease. His so-called team has also put announcements out that Trump knows more about COVID than Biden because he has experienced it first hand.
Next, the biggie: Trump the macho man is demanding that he leaves the hospital . Enclosed on the links are the statements from Dr. Fauci on how long people who have the virus should be hospitalized , Doctor's statement from Walter Reed Hospital, and many more including the statements from the Secret Service agents regarding Trump's bullshit parade yesterday. Also, more people at the White House are showing positive test results, they are infected .
The best reaction I think so far was from this morning , the interview with Carl Bernstein. As soon as it comes up on the internet, I'll post it.
UPDATE/edit: Here is that clip/interview... and Bernstein is right:
Well, he is back and wasn't that the most bizarre thing you have ever witnessed? I'm exhausted. It was bad enough he removed his mask jaw jutting, standing there like the Hulk and went inside to expose and contaminate more people, it was even weirder when he did a take-two for a reinactment with special touches.
I knew by just looking at him something was really wrong - and yes, he was on steriods. Trump on steriods - it is amazing he hasn't blown out his entire system and just popped, just like that. Check it out:
The president pushed for Democratic candidate Joe Biden to test for performance-enhancing drugs before their debate last week. It was the president who came off as the aggressor in that confrontation as the two presidential candidates spoke over one another consistently, much to the chagrin of moderator Chris Wallace, who later said “I’ve never been through anything like this."
Trump and Biden are scheduled to bicker again Oct. 15.
Pundits at CNN suggested throughout the day that the commander-in-chief should consider handing over control of the nuclear nation until he’s at 100%. Former presidential adviser David Gergin, who served three Republican and one Democratic head of state, said the U.S. is “in the grips of a mad man" as the ailing president maintains his control of the nation while heavily medicated and allegedly wrestling a deadly sickness.
Trump checked out of Walter Reed hospital and returned to the White House, where he promptly removed his mask and walked inside."
Brian Stelter here. White House reporters are furious at top admin officials for having "endangered" their lives, Wednesday's debate is still on, NBC News held a socially distanced town hall with Joe Biden, and more. But first...
Covering a coverup
On Sunday I said we are covering a possible coverup about the president's health, a possible coverup being led by the president from his hospital room. I need to amend that statement. Cut the word "possible." There is an obvious coverup underway, and reporters are chipping away at it, trying to get to the truth.
The clearest evidence of a coverup is the White House's refusal to share Trump's testing history. When was the date of Trump's last negative test? Yahoo's Hunter Walker and other reporters asked on Monday, but Dr. Sean Conley said "I don't want to go backward."
"That's something that a press secretary says, not something a doctor says," Jake Tapper pointed out afterward. Since no one in Trump's orbit will answer, it seems fair to conclude that the answer is embarrassing. He was required to be tested before last Tuesday's debate — and his campaign told the debate commission that he was tested – so did someone lie to the commission?
CNN's John Harwoodsaid the non-answers indicate that "they've been lying about the frequency of his testing, including whether he was tested before debating" Joe Biden, or that "he tested positive earlier than they've acknowledged, which was two days after debate."
In a bigger-picture sense, Trump is also covering up the reality of Covid-19. He is resuming his coronavirus denialism while he's still hobbled by the disease...
"What a bunch of bullshit"
That's what Chris Cuomo said at the start of "Cuomo Prime Time."
"Want to know the truth?" he said. "The virus is the truth. The virus doesn’t care about left and right. The virus does what’s reasonable. You give me a chance I will spread. You keep away from me, you don’t give me a chance. I run out of hosts. I die. I’m the truth. If you are doing the right thing, you don’t see me that much. If you are doing the wrong thing, you do."
A photo op and a power trip
IMHO, Trump's looks-like-victory flight home to the White House made sense through this prism: Every day is a TV show, he's the producer and the star, and he'll figure out some new show to produce tomorrow. He's not thinking a week or two ahead. He's certainly not trying to be a role model. In the words of this Axios headline, he is viewing "each day as TV episode."
By that weak standard, he succeeded on Monday. "That is the shot the President wants for the front page of the newspapers," Norah O'Donnell said on CBS as Trump arrived back home. It was, I said on CNN, a literal POWER TRIP – the live shot of the Marine One flight showed symbols of his power, including the Pentagon – and it called to mind his use of the South Lawn for his RNC acceptance speech. But the visuals did not match reality...
Lowry's take
Brian Lowry writes: "It's hard to quantify, but it feels like the last 72 hours of spin and obfuscation has cracked something in the media response to the White House, with even reporters who generally discuss the Trump administration in measured tones sounding exasperated and using terms like 'lying' more liberally. Whether that thinly veiled anger lingers will be worth watching in the days ahead."
